Man Dies After Found Shot Inside Western Massachusetts Apartment: Police

One person has died following a late night shooting at an apartment building in Western Massachusetts this week, according to officials.

Police responded to a gun call and report of shots fired to the 200 block of Union Street in Springfield around 10:35 p.m. on Monday, May 1, Public Information Officer Ryan Walsh reports.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he later died, Walsh said.

The shooting is under investigation.
